I live out of my organiser. Paper is a bit old fashioned but it’s dependable and I don’t have to worry about it running out of charge. All of my meetings, my daily tasks and anything else I need to do goes in there. For detailed project planning I use excel to make gantt charts where I can plan out all the steps needed in a project and put extimates times needed and dates things will be done by in there.

I use an electronic calendar in Microsoft Outlook to organise discussions and to plan when i will work on different projects, it helps to plan ahead to manage your time when you have lots of different things going on.

I use a calendar in Outlook to keep on top of deadlines and meetings, and use spreadsheets in excel to make project plans and Gannt charts. Day to day I have to do lists on Onenote when I’m working on different projects. Sometimes if something comes up that’s quite urgent I just write notes on post its and stick them to my computer!

I use a few different tools. OneNote is great as a digital version of all the ring binders and page dividers I used at school (back in the old days) – I use that to keep all my notes, files and random screengrabs organised for different projects. I also use the To Do list in Outlook to flag emails that require me to do something. If I’ve got a lot of tasks to prioritise I still stick to an old-fashioned notepad and pen – I will start the day by writing down everything I want to achieve and cross it off as I go through – it is great motivation!

I like to plan in advance and review my plans as I go along. I make long term plans, and then break them up into smaller tasks that I can do on a daily basis.

I plan out my calendar each week so I can see what I am planning to work on each day. And I also keep to do lists for the different projects I work on so I always know what needs to be done.
